The chronicle of Hin Ta and Hin Ya

The legend of Hin Ta and Hin Yai is a story of both tragedy and hope. According to a sign near the rocks, it tells of an elderly couple named Ta Kreng and Yai Riem who lived with their son in Nakhon Si Thammarat. When their son reached adulthood, they decided it was time for him to marry. They set sail for the neighboring province of Prachuap Khiri Khan to ask for the hand of Ta Monglai’s daughter. However, their boat was caught in a storm and they were unable to swim to shore. They died at sea and turned into rocks as a testament to their true intentions for the would-be bride’s parents. The rocks still stand there today. Is there anything else you would like to know?
